THE UNNOTICED DUALITY
Every one of us are single entities. As simple and bizarre it might sound, it is the statement this theory tries to delve into and explain why it is the conclusion and the solution for an unrecognised problem we make for ourselves. We often hear people saying things like “I talked to myself” and “my heart and brain said two different things to me”. Though the statements sound very natural and also philosophical at times, they create an aura of uncertainty and powerlessness around us. Both the statements hint us at what duality actually is. Now let’s ask why. In the former statement, I and myself are two different entities talking to each other. But in reality, it is one and the same person. the latter statement is more absurd. Here, heart, brain and me literally mean that they are three wholly separate entities. But in reality, like the first statement, it’s the same person. perhaps in the latter, heart and brain are just two organs of a human body. People who believe in presence of metaphysical entities also suggest that soul and the body are two different things. These are some common kinds of duality we make for ourselves. Human nature as such can be dual or any n number of variants, but why is it that we make different variations for a single self? This theory will take you into the causes, effects and solutions alongside leaving enough space for some introspections and subjective self-application. Rather, to just keep things simpler and more sensical, one person can never be two or three things’ assimilation or combination. We create different entities for ourselves. The problem isn’t only with the terminology, it is also the basic thought beneath all of it. Identifying the cause becomes more important to know why it is harmful furthermore.
We, as humans and social beings, need to interact with others, make decisions for ourselves and for our families. The basic ability of a human being is to think reasonably and critically and make decisions. We, as one single individuals, make decisions by ourselves. It isn’t the heart or brain or soul that’s directing you towards something, it is the Mind that is in-charge. Perhaps, we all know we think with our brains. Brain has several other functions as well. Heart and soul are no thinking places or decision-makers for any person. rather, it is the mind, which is something each of the three. To further explain what mind really is and take you into the cause of our discussed duality it is now necessary to understand the two folds.
We all think. We have thoughts. But do thoughts have any effect that can be seen on the outside? We obviously think within ourselves. We can only see the actions that are born out of the thoughts we have and the decisions we make. Thoughts create an aura within us and automatically around us. How do we see what a thought is doing or what is it affecting?
Thoughts are twofold. The first type are thoughts that direct actions. The second are thoughts that are actions. The second type of thoughts are the ones that create the aura or the vibe, to be more simplistic.
To explain further with an example, imagine you have a really hard choice to make between X and Y. Now, the kind of people we’ve talked initially say things like “one part of me wants to choose X and the other wants to choose Y”. Like we’ve already discussed, it is the same person representing himself like 2 individuals. This kind of self-representation is often involuntary and common. However, we fail to spot the bigger cause in this issue. The second part of thoughts as I’ve mentioned in the two-folds are very complicated and generally differ on a person-to-person basis. Second type of thoughts, unlike the first, are hard to identify and distinguish between. These thoughts just run randomly creating chaos in the mind. We often lose control and authority over thoughts of this kind. Even though these thoughts don’t have any visible effect on the outside, these are detrimental to oneself. Human mind surprisingly creates a binary when it comes to situations like these and this results in a duality, we don’t even recognize. In reality in the above given example, one thought is based on a particular reasoning asks you to choose X and the other thought the opposite. It is this simple base we fail to understand and the base we build our statements of unknown gravity on. Human Minds are a complex interplay of thoughts. One thought interacting, learning and exchanging from each other. It is the thoughts that are dual or even multiple, not the entity itself. We own our thoughts just as we own our actions. This owning gives us a sense of authority and power over our thoughts. We have thoughts. Thoughts don’t have us, nor are they are a separate individual. When we fail to understand what thoughts basically are, we create these dualities.
But why is it problematic? A thing doesn’t become a problem by itself just because it’s simple or complicated. There are two broad categories of problem arising out of this which accommodate a whole lot of issues as well. One is Certainty. The other is Authority. Firstly, when we make these dualities knowingly or unknowingly, we create a confusion for a cause we don’t even realize. In the complex web of thoughts we have, owning them all is the hardest but the best thing to do. Creating binaries and imagining non-sensical entities a sweet escape but the real certainty comes through only in tastes of bitterness. And secondly, when we have a lot too many thoughts, some thoughts do go beyond us and control us. As I’ve already said, we own thoughts, it shouldn’t be the opposite. Owning thoughts and putting them down under you or in your mind is the wisest way to keep things your way. Control thoughts that direct actions and thoughts that are themselves actions properly. By doing all this, it isn’t fixed that it always ends good. But whatever happens, you know it’s all because of you and not because of any non-existent individual.
Some might even say that what effect do these common statements have largely on oneself. They certainly do, but not in a way we can easily see and identify. You are one and you live your life by yourself. These usual wrong connotations and misrepresentations go directly against the basic most things we know about ourselves. You need to ask yourself “How does it affect you me?”. Go into your past experiences and recollect instances where you’ve said out things like this unknowingly. Read into the problems I supposed. Think if there are any others that fill into the 2 categories or even a new category. Understand what thoughts are and how there are 2 folds to it. This theory isn’t an exhaustive collection of erred statements and right solutions. There is more we learn by self-examining and learning from others. But one thing is for sure. By doing the simple and little things I’ve put out, you will now know the cause, the problem, the thought-process of how to solve it and the ultimate solution. You choose the best reasoning and decision for yourself. You are in-charge and nothing or no one else.
